Profile

Mohammed Omayer Aljoufie joined Faculty of Environmental Design, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, in 1998 where he received his bachelor degree in planning.  In 2005, he was appointed as a demonstrator teacher in Department of Urban and Regional Planning, Faculty of Environmental Design, King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. In 2006 he was awarded MSc and PhD scholarship by Ministry of Higher Education and King Abdulaziz University, Saudi Arabia. In September 2006, he joined Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Geo-Information Management, Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente, The Netherlands. In March 2008, he earned his MSc degree in Geo-information science and Earth Observation form with specialisation in urban and transportation planning. In December 2012, he awarded a doctoral degree by the Department of Urban and Regional Planning and Geo-Information Management, Faculty of Geo-Information Science and Earth Observation (ITC), University of Twente, The Netherlands. His research interests include geographical information systems, urban remote sensing, spatial statistics, urban transportation planning, urban growth and integrated land-use/transport dynamic interaction modelling (cellular automata approach in particular). He has published five ISI peer reviewed paper, two book chapters and presented in four international conferences.
